Helmut Lampaert Miu Miu's Regal Pop

It was 1960s modernism meets Louis XIV at the latest collection of Miu Miu, the final show of Paris fashion week that ended Wednesday evening, March 10.

Echoes of London's Carnaby Street designer Mary Quant rippled through this fall 2010 collection, unveiled in a grand mansion on Avenue Foch, Paris' most expensive area in terms of real estate prices.

Curvy pop culture dresses and jackets, nearly all of them in shiny wool, were kicked up with all sorts of metallic and fabric fl

Helmut Lampaert Louis Vuitton's Silver Screen Femininity

It was all very 1950s heroine chic at Louis Vuitton Wednesday, March 10, in Paris, when the label's designer Marc Jacobs sent out a series of proper, feminine looks onto a runway that circled a huge water fountain in a courtyard of the Louvre Museum.

"Doris Day, Brigitte Bardot, Sophia Loren, and I could mention others," Jacobs explained, referring to his influences, in the midst of the maelstrom that is the post-show backstage of Vuitton, where dozens of camera crews jostle for an in

Helmut Lampaert Utah funeral service held for Marie Osmond's son

Marie Osmond's 18-year-old son was remembered at a funeral service Monday with fond words, laughter and music from his famous singing family.

Michael Bryan's uncle, Donny Osmond, also appealed to God in an opening prayer.

"Bless my sister," he said, breaking into tears. "Bless my sister and her family."

Bryan was then memorialized by six of his seven siblings as a lighthearted person and a deep thinker who had a brilliant sense of humor and a kind, generous heart.

Jikisusha Kabogava Choosing A Perfect House Warming Gift

When you get started on your own you want your place to be unique, to represent your life and sense of style. A mixture of borrowed furniture and household items that don’t match doesn’t create a sense of style. This is the dilemma that faced our daughter when she moved into her first apartment. She was fortunate to be living with one of her friends, but they needed to furnish their home with style on a budget.

Helmut Lampaert Christian Dior - A Night At the Races

John Galliano, the Christian Dior creative director, is veritably consistent, but this season with a delightful libertine twist.

In January, Galliano presented a Dior haute couture collection with a rich equestrian theme. His fall 2010 ready-to-wear show on Friday, March 5, in Paris rode off on the same track, but took in pit stops with some elegant daywear and a delightful boudoir moment.

The designer went back to his Anglo roots with this collection, opening with a dashing c

Helmut Lampaert Met premieres Shostakovich's absurdist 'The Nose'

Dmitri Shostakovich composed his first opera, "The Nose," more than 80 years ago and based it on a short story written nearly a century before that.

Yet few works in the repertory seem more modern or musically challenging than this absurdist masterpiece that came to the Metropolitan Opera for the first time Friday night.

Written when the composer was just 22, the opera is adapted from a story by Nikolai Gogol about a bureaucrat in St. Petersburg named Kovalyov who wakes up to di

Helmut Lampaert Lil Wayne set to test how jails handle celebs

Lil Wayne may be a self-professed gangsta with the gunshot wound to prove it, but he's made plenty clear how he feels about doing time behind bars.

"I'd rather be pushin' flowers," he raps in 2008's "A Milli," "than to be in the pen sharin' showers."

He might have to get used to it. At the apex of a career that has made him one of music's biggest sellers, the Grammy-winning artist is expected to start a yearlong jail term Tuesday after pleading guilty in a New York City gun case
